Mad about BBQ sauce !
Trying to make you enjoy barbecue sauce as much as we do

Smokey Joe and his big brother

Wednesday, 8 September 2010 06:35 by nico
We’ve moved in our new apartment for one month now, and we finally have a garden ! That means… barbecue time ! And as 2 barbecues are better than one, we chose a green Weber Smokey Joe and an original one of 57 cm In Belgium, summer time is almost over (rain and wind have replaced sun and blue skies) but we’ve had the opportunity to cook some delicious meat on both of them. I’m familiarizing myself with indirect grilling and I feel like making my own marinades and homemade brochettes

I’ve got mail…

Friday, 2 July 2010 05:59 by nico
Some days ago, Brian of BBQ Sauce Reviews organized a contest whose price was a bottle of Outta The Park BBQ Sauce, and I was one of the lucky winners ! And today, a package from Cary, North Carolina, arrived in my mailbox  And here it is ! Scott, the owner of the company, enclosed 2 nice magnets in the package, which look great on our magnetic wall   As you can read on the magnet, the sauce is all-natural without any artificial flavors or products. And it tastes great ! I haven’t had the time yet to taste it on meat or vegetables, but the next review will certainly talk about this sauce Thanks to Brian and Scott !

Lays Oven Baked Barbecue

Thursday, 17 June 2010 05:41 by nico
One year ago we reviewed the Pringles Texas BBQ Sauce and Kettle Honey Barbecue chips and today we’ve found the brand new Lays Oven Baked Barbecue flavour ! The “Oven Baked” range of chips are known for their low amount of fat, which is of course healthier, so you can eat more of them (and without having greasy fingers !) The inside of the package reveals a smokey smell of paprika which makes us think to a barbecue in the garden during a sunny day They also taste like paprika chips, but again with a distinctive smokey flavour… in short, a very good choice for the aperitif ! Can be found in Belgian supermarkets 150g per pack Ingredients: potato flakes, starch, sunflower oil, BBQ flavour [sugar, rusk (from wheat), flavour enhancer (monosodium glutamate), dextrose, flavouring (contains wheat, barley, milk and lactose), paprika powder, onion powder, tomato powder, garlic powder, parsley, acidity regulator (citric acid, malic acid), colour (paprika extract), smoke flavouring], sugar, emulsifier (soy lecithin), dextrose, salt. Nutrition information per 100g: Energy: 400kcal Protein: 6.5g Carbohydrates (of which sugars): 73g (9.0g) Fat (of which saturates): 9.0g (1.2g) Fibre: 5.5g Sodium: 0.6g

A spicy blog

Saturday, 29 May 2010 06:41 by nico
I’ve just came across the really nice blog of sauce-piquante.fr (a spicy and bbq sauce retailer who ships to France, Belgium, Luxemburg and Switzerland… that’s interesting !). The blog features sauce reviews, recipes and facts about spicy sauce.  It has lots of content and a nice layout (it makes me think that I really should improve the design of this blog) but it’s only available in french. Check it out ! http://www.sauce-piquante.fr/blog/
